Also, on occasion, we are able to put together people looking to re-home their pet goat with new owners. We are happy to match potential new owners with old without the need for the goats to come into the sanctuary and therefore reducing undue stress to the goats.
If you are interested in having pet goats, please email us with details of the size of your land, other animals, horns if goats, fencing, shelter, experience and time available to care for the goats. We will pass your details on to anyone who is wanting to re-home a goat in your area. If you have not had goats before, please read this brochure produced by the RSPCA, which explains the basic requirements and advice about goat keeping. If you live locally we will be happy to show you personally how we care for our goats here and give you practical lessons on goat handling and hoof care before you take on your new pets.
We strongly advise you purchase a couple of goats minimum as they need to be with their own kind (this is as much for your benefit as theirs because if YOU are the 'best friend' they will not permit you to go to work or have any private life at all) although they will happily share field space with sheep, ponies, pigs, cattle, but remember your fencing must be a minimum of 4' high and strong.
