HAZEL

The household she belonged to sold up and didn’t want to take her with them.  The new owners wanted her for the freezer.  It was during foot and mouth and we had to wait for a special licence to move Hazel and she had to be ‘passed off’ by a vet.  She is no spring chicken and keeps herself to herself but when she isn’t feeling well she knows you’re there to help and will let you touch her.  She hasn’t got any close friends but lives with Tina and Page in a stable at Lord’s Acre.

BELL & PERTULA TINTWHISTLE

Bell's Mother Pertula was at the local Farmers' market, for sale, for slaughter!  We bought her and as she was so nervous when we arrived home we didn't make too much fuss of her, but just put her in a stable to relax.  Less than 24 hours later this small, round soft ball of fluff arrived - Bell.

SCAMP & ANNIE

Belonged to a lovely old gentleman.  Unfortunately his wife became ill and he could no longer devote the time to his much loved goats.  He was very upset to have to leave them but grateful that there was somewhere like here that could take them on.  Although Scamp is in the foreground there is still an unbelievable height difference between mother and son.  Although if you view Annie from an ariel position you can see she did stretch during manufacture, never to return to her once svelte physique.
